Pisces New Moon and Equinox, March 11: Endings and Beginnings

“You and I are all as much continuous with the physical universe as a wave is continuous with the ocean.”   Alan Wilson Watts, Philospher (1915-73)

The past month we have been awash in the murky and endless dreaminess of Pisces. This cosmic soup of feelings, sensitivity, dreams, ethereal art and music,
meditation, prayer and connection to spirit has been the prime motivating energy running the Universal show. How have you surfed this all connective, emotional wave?

The water sign of Pisces is all about emotional empathy and feeling. Back in the summer at the Pisces Full Moon 2012, Kathryn composed a poem "I Feel My Feelings" inspired by her experiences with our friend Dana at Pu'uhonua O' Honaunau National Historical Park, also known as "The City of Refuge" (see image above).  This is one of the most powerful healing points on the island, sometimes called a Place of Forgiveness. At this Pisces New Moon, it seemed a perfect time to combine poetry, art and music to bring this emotionally based poem to life. Listen to the recording here:

Also, in this changing world of communication, we recorded the other day an audio podcast highlighting what to expect at this New Moon and Equinox.

Pisces New Moon arrives on March 11 at 9:51 am in Hawaii, 12:51 pm on the West Coast (PDT), 7:51 GMT, and on the 12th from India east to the International Date Line.

This Pisces New Moon puts an exclamation mark on the past 30 days and prepares us for new initiatives, creativity and assertive action come the Equinox on March 20th and into April. Yes, Aries is rapidly on the way, however, for the time being, Pisces remains center stage. This Piscean surge is further underscored by the continuation of Mercury Retrograde in Pisces through the 17th (see below). Here, logic and rational thought continue to take a back seat to dreams, change of plans, and unusual, intuitive insights. And yes the shadow side of this realm is quite active too including delusion, indecisiveness, sorrow, grief and old emotional wounds.

March 11th also signifies the 2 year anniversary of the epic earthquake in Japan, triggering massive tsunami's, nuclear fall-out and water pollution on a scale not seen by those alive today. On that fateful day, Uranus, ruler of surprises, quick, disruptive change and electricity, entered into the sign of Aries (new beginnings). And what a day of change, particularly for the water quality in the Earth's oceans.

In this current Pisces vibe, prayerful intentions and action now take on a higher meaning for the collective. For example, Dr. Masaru Emoto World Peace Project desires to place his children's version of Messages From Water book in the hands of children world-wide. In part, this will help raise children's conscious awareness of water's special qualities.

On Big Island, Hawaii and beyond, everyone is invited to join Dr. Emoto and Kumu Keala Ching at the King Kamehameha Kona Beach Hotel Banyan tree at 7pm (10 PDT), in a ceremony to purify the water that was polluted two years ago by the Fukashima disaster in Japan. Kumu Keala will be chanting. Dr. Emoto, speaking Japanese, will evoke Ho'oponopono (Hawaiian ceremony of "making right") saying, "I am sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you. I love you." Wherever you are in the world and regardless of whether you read this in time for the ceremony here in Hawaii, you can join together with the collective using the power of group intentions to bless the ocean, visualizing a healing of its sacred waters and transforming the pollution into a benign vibration.

Here's the New Moon Chart

7 planetary aspects in one sign is quite unusual. This surge of energy in Pisces indicates a time where we connect to life in imaginative, universal ways. It also marks a time for the element of water. Hence, intense weather events, which includes drought, are on the higher side of probability during this period.

This Pisces New Moon also marks a time where our dreams and vision of a better world stand in stark contrast to what we observe in this third dimension. Such a dichotomy of energy. Yet, we're reminded on a deeper level "if we can dream it, we can create it." The catch is to put that energy into action. Can Aries' activating umph and mojo come soon enough?

And speaking of Aries, the day after the New Moon, Mars enters into its home sign joining Uranus. It is followed by the Sun on the Equinox and the following day by Venus. Hence, the next 2 weeks of this lunation is filled with a mix-bag of ending and beginning energy.

The Piscean side encourages you to go with the flow, be inward and reflective, meditate and connect to deeper parts of yourself. The Aries side of the fence says it's time to take action, be assertive and external, and don't take "no" for an answer. As these personal planetary aspects in Aries trigger the on-going Uranus/Pluto square, the ground becomes further ripe for surprising events in the realms of new beginnings and fast endings. The World as we have known it may never be the same once 2013 is over.

Mercury Retrograde:
As I shared in our last 2 updates, this retrograde has all the makings of surreal moments in time. Interactions with Chiron and Neptune assure us of the unexpected from beyond time and space. That includes "chance" meetings and connections from the past and deeper healing.

As I type these thoughts, I do so with a very sore throat. Of course, I have my natal Mercury in strong aspect to this Pisces surge. Arrrggghhh! If there were ever a formula for shifting the structure of my body's expression channel, this is it! Seems I am clearing some intense energy from deep in my lungs.Healing prayers and intentions this way are sure welcomed.

Due to this Pisces surge, plus Saturn in Scorpio, issues around health and healing are quite potent right now. If that's the case for you, be proactive. Consciously work with your body's energy expressions. Avail yourself of the services of wellness practitioners who are masters of the healing arts they practice. This is a profound time for moving karmic and genetic patterns in the body/mind consciousness.

Mercury concludes its retrograde on the 17th. A few days before and after, it stations direct at 5°  Pisces, and almost conjunct Neptune. This "standstill" can intensify what has taken place for you over the past 3 weeks (I wish I could convey how excited that makes my throat feel!). "Station direct" energy encourages you to go inward and reflect (good retrograde exercise) on your experiences in the realm of feelings, spirituality, sensitivity, and soul connections with others. What is ready to shift in your life to more fully embrace that more sensitive side of your being? Important too you stay grounded, pay attention to details, double-check plans, dates, etc. and most importantly give yourself and everyone around you some room to navigate a very watery, diffused, and confusing energy.

Conclusion:

Comet PanSTARRS now graces our sky, close to the Sun and visible for a short time after Sunset. Comets are bringers of new awareness, a reseeding from the outer reaches of the Solar System. While this comet may not be the brightest ever seen, its appearance in Pisces is nonetheless noteworthy. Easiest time to spot the comet after sunset will be the evenings of March 12 and 13 when it is near the crescent Moon (see illustration on left).

In that spirit, dream a bigger dream. Embrace a deeper part of yourself. See yourself as an integral part of life's great journey. Stretch into new areas where life feels edgy yet exciting to your spirit. The seeding of this New Moon energy serves as a foundation for the coming months of 2013.

This Summer, very strong planetary alignments occur in the Cardinal signs of Aries, Capricorn and Cancer. We'll get a taste of that energy in late March into April as the aforementioned Aries wave builds.

Great changes in planetary vibration trigger great changes in societal structure. Recent study of ice core samples have shown this to be the warmest period on Earth since the end of the Ice Age over 11,000 years ago. Increased heat = increased irritation, friction and vibration. While it is pure speculation about how this energy evolves, we nonetheless are on this ride together. Pisces at this New Moon helps us to remember that universal connection on very deep soulful levels. We are the answer to our prayers.

  4. As I read your post about throat energy, it took me back to the time I first met you at Health Unlimited, when upper respiratory/throat issues were also in your awareness. I believe it was late spring or midsummer 1995, if that gives you any insight. As always, I appreciate the information you provide. Hope all continues to go well for you. -- Jane Nelson
