The month of May nears its half way point (these months are sure flying by) as the Scorpio Full Moon takes center stage. Each year, the Scorpio Full Moon lights up the mid-spring sky (or mid-autumn sky for those down-under). Here, we are encouraged to go deeper into our life force, exploring new ways to use this precious vibration in our day-to-day lives.

Full Moon arrives on the 14th at 9:16 am in Hawaii, 12:16 pm on the West Coast; 3:16 pm on the East coast; 7:16 pm UTC; and on the 15th from western Russia east to the international date line.

This Full Moon joins Saturn in Scorpio in the current sky story. Over the past 90 years, this is only the 4th time the Full Moon and Saturn in Scorpio have come into close aspect (2nd closest). Archetypally, the Moon's
presence adds quite an emotional jolt to Saturn's otherwise staid vibration.

Scorpio Full Moon Chart

The emotional vibration of the Moon joins with Saturn at this lunation to add significant emotional content to an already potent flow. Retrograde Saturn brings this energy deeply within the psyche to explore the right use of power in your life. While archetypal Scorpio seeks out power, especially sexual power, Saturn wants it to be real and grounded. This has been evident since Saturn first entered Scorpio in late 2012. Sexual boundaries/behavior previously hidden are now in full view for social understanding and acceptance or non-acceptance. The entertainment industry has been a strong leader in blurring what was once clearly defined barriers to greater sexual expression and intimacy.

At this Scorpio Full Moon, the Cardinal Cross (note: it is far from "over), augments with a grand water trine to bring the Scorpio vibration to a whole new level. As I have shared over the past few months, the Cardinal Cross is seeding a brand new paradigm across the globe. With the added fuel of a grand water trine at this Scorpio fullness, the Cardinal Cross intensity takes on greater emotional depth and meaning. In the days ahead, look for potent weather shifts, strong geological changes and extreme emotional responses as Earth and we recalibrate and reorganize around this energy.

Coming Mercury Retrograde in Cancer/Gemini:

The various planetary Full Moon interactions now set the stage for the month-end Gemini New Moon, which I'll cover in the next update. It is also a precursor for the coming Mercury Retrograde on June 7th. That retrograde will start in Cancer and end in Gemini, fueling strong Cardinal energy into Mercury's Gemini realm of spontaneity and flow. Emotional driven communications and artistic expression born out of this cycle will be the very fuel that sets the stage for the entire summer. This is particularly true for integrating and expressing the current Cardinal energies.

Remember, Mercury Retrograde opens the door for spontaneity, surprises, and new ways of communicating and connecting. Mercury enters the retrograde shadow on May 22nd. With each day leading up to the actual retrograde on June 7th, spontaneity will be stronger while logical flow will prove less and less accessible. This is true for plans, travel, and new beginnings. Take the time now to check the condition of your electronics and important mechanical devices (car etc). If you plan on traveling during Mercury Retrograde (June 7 - July 1) remember to expect nothing, be prepared for anything.

Mars moves direct
This has been one long retrograde, especially in the emotional realm. Mars is now near its station point at 9° Libra. On the 19th, it will station direct (literally "stop" from Earth's perspective), and then slowly (let me say this again S-L-O-W-L-Y) gain momentum. By early June, Mars will start to move away from the strong influence of Uranus and Pluto. By early July (after Mercury retrograde ends) new found direction and motivations will return. Conclusion: So much energy is moving on planet Earth. Everything feels so much faster. Days blur into days. Humanities embrace of technological devices such as phones, tablets, high speed computers, etc. has altered the way we relate and connect with one another. The Scorpio Full Moon is a powerful time to reevaluate these personal connections. Are they real? Do they inspire you? Do they deepen your sense of self and others? What needs to change to allow more emotional humanness and love in your day-to-day interactions with others?

Quite a bit of emotional intensity is building on the planet now, especially amongst nations of the world. Polarity seems to be at an all time high. Further, in the coming days, the intensity of weather patterns, earth shifts and other phenomena may add significantly to this human emotional conundrum. Important to remember we are part of a much bigger picture. We are here to evolve together rather than apart. The planetary cycles of the past year have been epoch. Their intention is to redefine our direction and flow in preparation for our taking a much bigger step into the Cosmos. Will we be prepared? Will we be ready to embrace a more significant part of our awareness and cosmic heritage? Will we become better stewards of the Planet? These are compelling questions for this Scorpio lunation.
