December Full Moon is found near the belt stars of Orion, a powerful place in the sky, highlighting the polarity point of galactic center. On this week of Solstice, this is a potent time to align with our ancestors and look forward to the future.
Gemini is the Zodiac sign of the lovers and the twins. We have used the name Gemini Awakening for over a decade in honor of this symbolic archetype. Gemini is duality, from two becomes one. Seeing things from multiple sides gives a greater ability for awakening insights. Do you find yourself stuck in a perspective or thought process? Over the next two weeks, very strong energetic patterns emerge, serving as a template for what's to come in 2014, especially next April through June. This includes:
Solstice arrives on the 21st as the Sun enters Capricorn beginning a new season. The same day, Venus begins her retrograde in Capricorn. She moves backwards in the sky story through January 31 when she again assumes her direct motion.
Venus retrograde, which occurs every 18 months or so, signals an inward time for the feminine aspects of self, especially for women. This particular internal journey is an important one because it involves a connection with transformative Pluto at the end of the retrograde come late January. There's a sense of renewed energy, determination, greater compassion and focus in this connection. Your internal discovery during this retrograde can be a potent stimulus for choices you make in 2014.
Meanwhile, Mars now moves through the early degrees of Libra, the sign of relationship and diplomacy. Mars' journey in this sign of balance is unusually long.
