This Gemini Awakening Astrology update covers news you can use to navigate the epic planetary waves now sweeping the planet.

A significant vibrational change is underway. Can you feel it??? The season of water has arrived. Mercury began building this recent wave back in late May when it moved into the sign of watery Cancer. Venus followed a few days later. Now at this Solstice, Sun enters Cancer offering illumination for what lies ahead in the coming season.

Just 3 days after the Solstice, the Full Moon arrives at 1:32 am in Hawaii; 4:32 a PDT, 11:32 GMT. This Full Moon occurs just 22 minutes from the Moon's perigee point making it the closest Full Moon of 2013. The term "Super Full Moon",  a rather recent addition to our lexicon, applies here.

In the "as above, so below" sky story, mark your calendar for Moon Rise time on the 23rd. Make plans with friends and family to witness this infrequent celestial event. The Moon will appear much larger than usual when near to the horizon. Absorb Luna's photons of light. Breathe them deeply into your core. This is a potent celestial window to set your intentions for the unfolding lunation as well as the new season.

Just two days after Full Moon, Jupiter completes its 1 year journey in Gemini
joining the Cancer parade. It will remain in Cancer through June 2014. On the following day, Mercury stations retrograde in Cancer. If that weren't enough water energy, Saturn and Neptune have been in a trine or 120° association in the watery signs of Scorpio and Pisces, respectively, since early April. That trine combo continues through mid-September. That's a strong focus on all things "water".

Yet, add this Cancer parade to the Saturn/Neptune watery trine and its transformative energy moves to a whole different level. Here a Grand Water Trine emerges. In short, get ready for a potent season of water events and heightened emotions.

Here's our latest astrology video providing a graphical overview of these watery planetary cycles:

To summarize:
- Grand Water Trine now in play through August 7, with nebulous Neptune and steady Saturn leading the way.  Expansive emotions alert!

Here's the Super Full Moon chart:

Capricorn Full Moon illuminates how you shine your light in your public life (Capricorn) while being  energized and nurtured at home (Cancer).  Integrity and responsibility are also themes for this moon cycle. How can we take care of each other in conscious, loving ways.

June 20/21 is the Solstice and several planets in the sky story support further personal and planetary turning points over the next few months. June Solstice 2013 marks the official start of summer in the northern hemisphere, while winter begins for our neighbors in the south. Even in Hawaii, we celebrate longer days and later sunsets at this time of year.

In both the Solstice and Full Moon chart, the grand water trine is formed with Sun in early Cancer, Saturn in Scorpio and Neptune in Pisces. Just as your solar return “birthday chart” sets the tone for the year ahead, the planet patterns on a solstice or equinox chart set the tone for coming three months. A grand water trine invokes the element of water and its associated energies, including heightened feelings and sensitivities.

Also, be mindfully aware of your emotional and physical boundaries. Create a deeper compassion and ease with yourself and others. This is a time to deepen connection with family and community. As Jet Li suggests "we need to help each other".

A grand water trine is a potent energy configurations. However, because of the greater distance between its various members, conscious action is required to access and use this energy productively in your personal life.

The particular challenge with this water trine is the association between realistic Saturn and nebulous Neptune. Saturn says "whatever you dream or envision, make it real. Compare that with Neptune's tendency to make all things one in a nebulous, undefined way.  Quite an odd couple. Hence, you are encouraged to ground this dreamy, Neptune vibe in productive, practical ways. Activate your dreams or vision into action. That action points to the sign of Cancer and the realms of home, family, community and issues of security and safety.

Further, the increased water element during this time implies strong emotional energy, but also a dissolving of boundaries. Think globally and act locally. Look at what is happening on the world stage. What is dissolving? There has been a lot of emotion expressed around the world of late. Civil uprisings and protests in Brazil, Syria, and Turkey have filled the news. Epic flooding from persistent storms in Europe have challenged many communities, especially in Germany. The US Government's secret practice of mining cell phone data bases for potential terroristic threats, or the IRS harassment of conservative political groups have added a lot of emotional fuel to the political arena.

Personal Planets ingress through Cancer
Mercury, Venus, Sun, Jupiter and Mars all energize and active this Grand Water Trine in June, July and early August 2013.  The Water trine with Neptune and Saturn is most powerful and intense during mid July when Mars and Jupiter meet at 5 Cancer.  They also add critical tension to the continuing Uranus Pluto Square. Look at your own chart for planets at 0° - 13° of Cardinal signs of Aires, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn.  This will give you clues if this emotional time is personally energized for you. Wow, what a mouthful! Here are further details for our Virgo friends:

- Mercury in Cancer, May 30 - Aug 8 (June 26 - July 20 retrograde)
energy moves quickly, adds element of intelligence and action
- Venus in Cancer, June 2 - June 27
Invites love, beauty, harmony and justice
-- Sun in Cancer, SOLSTICE June 20 - July 22
Energizes, activates and adds further fuel
- Jupiter in Cancer, June 25, 2013 - July 16, 2014
    Expands enthusiasm and brings blessings
- Mars in Cancer July 13  - August 27, 2013
    Instigates, motivates, catalyzes

Looking a bit farther ahead, Jupiter and Mars travel together in early degrees Cancer beginning July 13th. This adds very potent energy to the on-going Uranus/Pluto square. This intense T square pattern creates a critical resonance for the reminder of July through early August.

Mercury Retrograde

It's that time of year again, the second 2013 Mercury Retrograde is from June 26 to July 20 in the sign of Cancer. For about 3 weeks, 3 times each year, Mercury’s apparent motion appears retrograde from our perspective on Earth.

What does that mean for you? Mercury Retrograde periods are time to reorganize, rethink, reconsider, resolve, reflect, relax and more. In other words it's "RE" time. A good time for research, but not the best time to begin a new project, open a business, sign contract or enter into a marital state. In all respects, spontaneity is a potent ally, while logical flow or established plans can prove quite bedeviling.

In this retrograde, Mercury retraces its early to late June path through July 20th. On July 7th to 11th, Mercury and the Sun will cross paths. Mark these days on your calendar as "internal and reflective".

This retrograde will be felt much more personally for those who have natal planetary energies placed at 13° to 23° in any Cardinal sign (Aries, Cancer, Libra and/or Capricorn. Further, everyone ought to have a look at their personal birth chart to see which astrological houses Mercury Retrograde will affect. We'll post more about this retrograde in our Cancer New Moon update in early July.

Conclusion: Water is a dominant force on the planet. It nurtures us, yet equally challenges us. In excess or in lack, its pervasive effect can be extreme. This coming season of water will open your perspective to just what this element means in your life and in the lives of those in your family and community.

Remember too, in all astrological discussions through early 2015 Uranus in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn will be an inherent part of the conversation. This epic 44 month cycle is reorganizing and redirecting  human civilization in ways that cannot be predicted or anticipated. By the end of this new season, we will have passed the half way mark of this potent cycle. The second half will feed off of the energy created during the first 22 months.

Current evolving planetary energies in the sign of Cancer now bring a quest for a more nurturing and sustaining world into the Uranus/Pluto conversation. Yes, these are intense times. The birth of anything is an intense process. Yet, there is a richness to this vibration too. The old way of behaving and inter-relating as a global community is coming to a close. New, edgy, radical and progressive energies are emerging simultaneously as an old era dissolves and falls apart.

Your conscious participation is essential to create the world you envision. Remember, Saturn says "make it real". Dive deep and clear out what no longer serves you and your community. We are living a dream of many vibrations. This new season offers you the opportunity to emotionally ground that dream into a more functional reality.

Sat Nam.
