Pisces New Moon March 4th: Dreaming the dream

Pisces New Moon arrives on the 4th (or on the 5th for points east of Iraq to the International Date Line). Symbolically, as the last sign of the zodiac, the water sign of Pisces represents completion and transcendence on many levels of consciousness, especially those accessing dream states and the transpersonal. It also places added emphasis on the realm of emotions and feelings.

New Moon energy is further intensified by the presence of 4 potent planetary energies in Pisces: Mercury (communication), Chiron (healing), Mars (assertiveness) and Uranus (quick change). These archetypes signal the old ways of connecting are coming to a close. With a very strong line-up of Aries energy waiting in the wings around mid-month, we now witness a passing of the torch. Life is evolving and changing rapidly. This is a potent time for completions and new beginnings.

The strong Pisces vibe of this chart helps deepen your connection to the world around you, especially those in your inner circle of friends etc. Qualities of Pisces include empathy, feelings, transcendence, completions, selfless service in the world and sensitivity. It also is the gateway to your soul essence.

Motivated by its water element, Pisces types are usually very sensitive, creative and gentle. Yet, losing oneself in the "oneness" is a strong challenge in this fluid realm. Hence, it's not uncommon for Pisces types to experience drug or alcohol challenges at some time in their lives.

Prominent in the chart is this amazing Piscean line-up starting with Uranus (1), Mercury (2), Moon/Sun (3), Mars (4) and Chiron (5). Just a degree back in Aquarius is Neptune (6), the ruling planetary energy of Pisces. I see its position relative to the above as a reminder of the shifts now taking place from a Piscean Age vibration to a more technological, social, and humanitarian Aquarius theme. By early April, Neptune will move into Pisces, where it will spend 4 months prior to returning to Aquarius for one last 6 month pass. Neptune was last in Pisces in 1847 - 1862. On the other side of the chart alone in Libra is Saturn, the task master of the zodiac. Saturn encourages you to be grounded, especially in relationship driven Libra. Creating a quincunx, or 150 degree angle to the New Moon point creates an odd relationship between Libra's air element and Pisces water vibe (the very nature of a quincunx angle). Here, Saturn is encouraging you to be clear and grounded about where and how you invest your energies in this highly amped realm of Piscean sensitivity.

This strong Pisces grouping continues until March 9th when Mercury begins the procession into Aries. One valuable approach during this Piscean phase is to take time to reflect inwardly about your soul intention for participating in this grand turning of the ages. What motivated you to be on Planet Earth at this time? What are you ready to bring to completion on this soul journey so new doors of opportunity may open? Seeding these questions at the New Moon brings deeper introspection and inner connection. As such, pay attention to your dreams the next 2 weeks. New information is ready to be downloaded into your psyche.

Let the Aries procession begin: 

As mentioned above, the shift from Pisces to Aries begins in earnest on March 9th when Mercury moves into fiery Aries. Mercury, ruler of communication and life's details remains in Aries through May 15th due to its coming retrograde at month's end (more on the next blog).

Just 2 days later, Uranus moves into Aries signaling big shifts lie ahead from unexpected (Uranian vibe) sources through at least 2015. Last summer, Uranus briefly moved into Aries, serving as one of the triggers for the potent Cardinal Climax. Now it's back in Aries for a ride of unexpected ups and downs through 2018. The last time Uranus traveled through Aries was 1927 - 1935, a very intense period of time on planet Earth.

Finally, on March 12th, Mars, ruler of Aries, moves to the same degree in Pisces now occupied by the Sun/Moon. The unrest now brewing in the Middle East is feeding off the same type of intense Aries vibration evident in the 1960's. Mars' assertive energy ensures completions will occur.


Middle East turmoil 

As a backdrop to the unrest now sweeping through various countries in the Middle East (globally, no nation is immune to this intensity), Jupiter (1) moved into Aries on January 22nd and began a protracted square with Pluto (2) in Capricorn.

Jupiter energy is optimistic and is the ruling energy of visionary, higher-mind Sagittarius. In Aries, this driving optimism fuels the current zeal and confidence being seen in protests throughout the Middle East. Add Plutonian fuel to the mix in traditional Capricorn and...well the nursery rhyme "humpty dumpty" comes to mind.

This dynamic remains in play through early April, and serves as a template for the coming intense squares of Uranus and Pluto through 2015.I will explore this dynamic in greater depth in a future blog. For the moment, suffice it to say this "pay attention" cycle is being primed by the current Jupiter/Pluto square. The world indeed is changing, and rapidly at that. 

Conclusion

In the midst of far-reaching global turmoil in the realms of finance, economics, politics, governance and social structures we are graced with a brief interlude at this Pisces New Moon. I consider this a lull between wave sets.

We stand at the precipice of a new reality for the world community. Momentous shifts in the Middle East portend a human population (we just passed 7 Billion!!!) more connected, aware and empowered. Yet, as with any signficant change, the immediate short-term surges may seem intensely unstable and raw until new alliances, systems etc. sort themselves out.

This New Moon plugs you directly into the dreamtime...a place where the Aboriginal Tribes of Australia connected to the "real world"...the light behind the form. In that spirit, through intention and inspiration, stoke the fires of your dreams, establishing your place in this evolving mythos. Visualize a different reality in alignment with your passion and creative gifts. In all respects, remember "we are the answer to our prayers."
