"You need to challenge your fear of life becoming unreasonable - because it is already unreasonable. In truth, your life has never been reasonable, it’s just that you keep hoping tomorrow will be different and that you will find a way to bring more control into your world. Recognize that life will always be full of challenges and crisis. The wise way is not to attempt to find one path that promises you will never have to endure the pain of loss and illness, but instead to learn how to endure and transcend when unreasonable events come your way. Learning to defy gravity in your world - to think, perceive, and act at the mystical level of consciousness - is the greatest gift you can give yourself, because it is the gift of truth. And as we are bound to learn again and again in this life, the truth does indeed set us free.” Carolyn Myss, author and spiritual teacher
Whenever the Moon comes into New or Full aspect in the sign of the Sagittarian Archer, the notions of "truth" and embracing/attaining a higher spiritual perspective enter our human conversation. This month's Full Moon seeds this theme in unusual and compelling ways. Are you ready to face life's unpredictable ups and downs from a new or more enlightened perspective? If so, I suggest first re-reading Carolyn Myss' quote, then reading on.
Full Moon occurs at 22° Sagittarius (chart below) on June 12 at 6:11 pm in Hawaii, 9:11 on the West Coast, 11:11 in the Midwest USA, and shortly after midnight on the 13th on the East Coast USA, east to the International Dateline. GMT for the Full Moon is June 13th at 8:11 am.
In this lunation, powerful transformational forces continue to dominate the astrological landscape. As I mentioned in my end of May update, Mars in cardinal sign Libra continues its ever-so-slow direct motion as it retraces its retrograde movement of March through mid-May. This "slog" continues
throughout June into early July before faster movement begins. Remember...slow motion = accentuated/intensified energy. Also, a reenactment of energy experienced during the retrograde usually occurs in this retracing. Mars in Libra quest...to create honoring, equal conscious relationships; hence, the multitude of relationship melt-downs since early 2014.
Meanwhile...Jupiter, ruler of Sagittarius, continues its swan-song in Cancer. As it too positions at 22° at this lunation, a strong connection and amplification occurs between Jupiter's "nurturing theme" of "self-care, home, family and community"and the overall lunation theme set out in this update's opening paragraph.
Because we are still in Gemini season, where levity usually prevails (this year's intensity being a stark exception), here's a recent commencement address (shortened version) by Jim Carey to the graduates of Marharishi University in Fairfield Iowa. He touches on all the Gemini/Sagittarius themes of this lunation in disarming and enlightened ways. My favorite quote: "the effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is." Enjoy.
Questions for contemplation at this Full Moon:
>>How attentive lately have I been to the physical needs of my body? If not, what needs to change in my life to allow more self-care time?
>>Am I satisfied with my connection to family and community?
>>What have I learned in the realm of communication since Mercury moved Retrograde on 6/7?
>>Do I share from a truthful, enlightened place with those close to me?
>>Do I approach life from a place of passion and excitement, or a place of security/comfort? What does my approach create for me and others? Am I satisfied with this result?
>>How can I create a greater spiritual connection with those around me?
Here's the Full Moon Chart
Venus...ruler of relationships, opposes Saturn at this lunation. Both create strong aspects to Chiron in Pisces (see #1 annotation on Full Moon chart above).
--Venus in Taurus is on a quest to connect with the Earth's vibration and help you create a more organic/tangible connection with physical, sensuous life.
--Saturn in Scorpio says, "make it real."
--Venus/Saturn's combined aspect to Chiron and its healing influence, especially in Pisces, evokes a more compelling emotional influence on the physical (Taurus) and energetic (Scorpio) levels.
If you have been experiencing body symptoms of late...pay attention to the message. All symptoms, regardless of intensity, are life's "agents of change". See the pattern from a more global and genetic perspective. Remember, patterns can only be changed when experienced.

During this lunation, the Moon arrives in Capricorn on the 14th to conjunct Pluto. Together, they complete a square with slow-moving Mars. Timing. Mark your calendars for a day of intensity, emotional breakdowns and breakthroughs, and unexpected shifts in the realm of relationships. Quick changing Uranus in Aries is part of this conversation too. Hence, this vibration, sans the heightened emotional component, peaks on the 24th, yet continues in unexpected ways into early July.
Other highlights for this 14 day lunation include...
Mercury Retrograde...now slowly moving in reverse through the early degrees of nurturing Cancer. This is a powerful time to REset, REvisit, REview, REplenish, and REgenerate yourself in self-caring, nurturing ways until...
Mercury shifts into Gemini on the 17th...then add "REinvent yourself" to the list. Mercury remains in Gemini through July 12th. That's 25 days of Mercury transiting one of its home signs (Virgo is the other). Gemini points to spontaneity, changeability, connection, information/idea exchange, communication, playfulness and humor. In retrograde these Gemini traits...
are heightened in unorthodox ways (note: Gemini is already unorthodox). Hence, my attempting to be any clearer about what to expect from this transit is a fool's journey. This is a great time to revisit ideas, projects etc. that have lost their mojo; perhaps approaching these creative expressions with fresh eyes in anticipation of a new season occurring at...
the Solstice on June 21st when the Sun moves to 0° Cancer at 12:51 am in Hawaii, 3:51 am on the West Coast USA, 8:51 GMT, and 7:51 pm in Tokyo. Now...the Sun illuminates new awareness and focus in the Cancer realm of self-care, home, family and community. "How do I create a more nurturing reality?" becomes a Sagittarian quest this lunation. This question is birthed 2 days before the Solstice when the...
Sun first conjuncts Mercury Retrograde on the 19th in late Gemini, before moving into Cancer at the Solstice. Then, the Sun follows the Mercury Retro path in Cancer for the next 3 days. This opens a portal for greater insight and understanding about nurturing aspects in your life requiring upgrade or fine tuning just as...
Venus and the Moon enter Gemini on the 23rd/24th. Here Venus embodies the playful trickster, inviting new insights and levity into the astrological landscape...but also realizing her recent January retrograde quest is "Capricorn"...organizing the energy field into a more cohesive, flowing structure by July 2015. Given the current state of world affairs, that's quite a quest!
Conclusion: The cosmic stage has been set by powerful cycles in the 1st half of 2014. And the 2nd half promises to be just as compelling. Jupiter moves into Leo in July (first time since 2003). Lunar and solar eclipses await us in October along with a grand fire trine and Mercury Retrograde. And come December, Saturn tests the Sagittarius fire, while Uranus and Pluto once again create intensity.
As a whole, 2014 may prove to be the most potent year of this young century. As if to say "amen", just the other day the Sun released 3 major X-class flares. Perhaps our day star is reminding us about who is in charge around here. Or, perhaps we are witnessing a great shift of energy affecting all aspects of life throughout the solar system.
With each passing day our global community comes closer together. Technology, especially since Uranus entered Aries in 2011, has created new pathways for heightened connection and interaction transcending all national barriers. At this Sagittarian Full Moon, you are offered the opportunity to deepen those connections in more nurturing ways, elevating yourself to a more meaningful and tangible spiritual quest for the truth.
