Sagittarius New Moon: 12/12/12 and Solstice 12/21/12: Truth Serum 101

The calendar reads 12/12/12 today. That's the 13th time this century we have reached a numerical date of similar digits (1/11/11 is included too). And, this will be the last time this century these multiple, resonant dates are part of the NOW consciousness.

Rather extraordinary to witness how the significance of these date sequences have snowballed throughout the human consciousness over the past 12 years (since 01/01/01). I wonder if people assigned any similar meaning to the calendar back in the early years of the 19th or 20th centuries when interconnection was perhaps a flicker of possibility in someone's psyche? 

Yet, here we are in the 21st century, more connected than ever, amidst a rapidly expanding world population beyond anything ever imagined. Current
estimates put the human population (as I type this sentence) at 7,084,782,773 (look here to see the current number) and rapidly counting upwards. That's a lot of connective awareness on one very small rock in a very big solar system.

And with that rise in conscious awareness many perspectives about the significance of any event, be it a calendar date, or anything else, filters through into our psyches and sometimes takes a life of it own. e.g. Here's Google's indicator for the top world events trending in 2012. 

Co-creativity abounds during this time. Since Neptune entered Pisces just 20 months ago, people have come together in fascinating ways through the realms of imagery and music. And this will continue to rapidly expand through 2025. For example, Instagram, Facebook, Tumblr, Twitter, YouTube and other social forums, as well as the phenomena of Flash Mobs, have become a vibrant haven for people to instantly share their reality with everyone, anywhere in the blink of an eye. So regardless of the perceived implications of today's 12/12/12 date, or even the focus on the coming Mayan date of 12/21/12, this virtual juggernaut of inter-connection will continue to expand, create, distort, and alter life as we perceive it well into the next decade.

Sagittarius New Moon: in the current Sky Story, we arrive now at the next New Moon Cycle. On the 13th (GMT 8:42 am) for most of the world (10:42 pm on the 12th in Hawaii), the Moon rejoins the Sun at 21° Sagittarius, not too far from the Galactic Center point of 26° Sagittarius. This New Moon energy carries with it strong wave of optimism about the future, as well as a desire to understand and recognize the truth about life's deeper mysteries. By itself, that is quite an uplifting energy. Yet, this expansive optimism about where life is headed is tempered by the strong headwinds of Uranus square Pluto, which continues through 2015, as well as a strong T-square between Mercury, Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune inherently woven into the New Moon chart.

The T-square brings with it a strong dose of illusion and distortion thanks to Neptune. What can we believe...what or whom can we trust...what is real and what is make believe? Chiron adds the element of "healing" to this question; letting go of delusions from the past.

Per the illustration on the left, Mercury (communications) in Sagittarius is positioned almost at the same degree where it began its recent Sagittarius/Scorpio retrograde back in November. On the 13th, it will pass this retrograde point beginning a new cycle. What have you learned in the realm of the truth (Sagittarius) over the past 5 weeks? Are you sharing your resources (Scorpio) differently today?

Meanwhile, Jupiter (expansiveness) in Gemini is positioned near the same degree as the past Gemini Full Moon and in opposition to Mercury. Their squares to Chiron/Neptune in Pisces creates the T-Square. This configuration can make the process of discernment very challenging. Hence the questions about information and beliefs posed above, especially in the realm of how we communicate (Mercury) what is true for us.

Add to this geometry, the on-going Yod of Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto superimposed over the T-Square and described in our last update. Now, critical discernment becomes a key ingredient about how to approach what you read, believe or share. Yod energy implies taking a different or unconventional approach. Saturn says "make it real", Pluto says "bring it from the depths of your being". Otherwise, false or distorted information fuels Jupiter creating hyperbole and ungrounded energy. In turn, this leads to the shadow side of Chiron/Neptune and its delusional elements.

This is particularly true for individuals born between 1970 and 1974, who are experiencing a strong generational Neptune cycle, or anyone with significant early degree planetary aspects in the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces.

One suggestion for deepening the gift of discernment: quiet yourself and simply breathe. There is always truth in the breath. Does it flow easily within your being? Is is deep and penetrating? Does it fill you with inspiration? Add physical movement (perhaps dance) and conscious touch (eg drawing) to the process and you have developed a strong truth monitor for what is evolving now and beyond. Grace and ease always point to the truth.

And then there's the "800 lb. Gorilla in the Room"...namely Uranus square Pluto.   

In short, Uranus in Aries (since March 2011) seeks radical change and new beginnings regardless of any apparent obstacles. The upheavals in the Middle East (Egypt, Libya, Syria, Tunisia, etc are good examples), Its energy is fast acting, unbounded and free of limitations and restrictions. 

By contrast Pluto in Capricorn (since January 2008) has been the catalyst for melting down the outdated organized, structured, political and financial frameworks of society as it makes way for a new paradigm. 

Put these two forces together and you get exactly what we see/experience in today's world. A world of extreme flux, amplified polarity, enormous possibilities and significant leaps in technology, all tempered/altered by the dissolving of old, reliable, dependable entities, such as businesses, corporations, governments and even nations.

Hence, regardless of the "end of the world scenario" making its way around the Internet, the dominant focus in the current Sky Story continues to be Uranus and Pluto. That Uranus attaches itself to the Yod energy (see illustration above), adds further emphasis to the above suggestions.

In 2013 (5/20 and 11/1) and 2014 (4/21 and 12/14), this trans-generational duo create 4 exact square energies, further amplifying and intensifying their combustible vibration. Hence, by 2015, the world may look quite different than the one we know today. And that script is being written on the fly. Uranus in Aries would have it no other way. 

The Solstice nears on 12/21 at 1:12 am in Hawaii, 3:12 am on the West Coast, 11:12 am GMT. Only New Zealand marks this transition on the 22nd just after midnight. Solstice times mark a turning point in life. Here, you regroup and prepare for the next cycle. This year's date, when the Sun moves into Capricorn, happens to coincide with the ending/beginning of the 26,000 year Mayan Calendar. 

Certainly a new global paradigm is emerging. Our home planet is generating a higher vibrational frequency, which adds a lot of heat to the mix. In turn, the coming together of many people on the Earth in collective awareness supports and fuels this evolving shift.

However, the Solstice Sky Story does not point to an alteration of time or consciousness as the Mayan Calendar cycle would suggest. The current transits and aspects for that day are rather meek energetically compared to some of the more vibrant energies triggered over the past few years. For that matter, the coming Full Moon in Cancer at month-end in aspect to Uranus/Pluto is much more of a pay attention script. Perhaps the 12/21 date associated with the end of the calendar is erroneous; perhaps it's more attuned to 2013 and 2014. Only time will tell.

From my reading of the current cycles, I suggest staying present, letting go of the need to know, exercising and staying grounded, keeping your energy field open to new possibilities, practicing creative arts, and as importantly, using discernment in your day to day choices. Actions such as these will help you prepare for the bigger waves coming your way in 2013 and 2014.
