In the case of the Earth's cap, its shadow light is a very dusky red, infused with the scattered remains of crimson solar light not held captive by the Earth's atmosphere. Eclipse chaser and observer extraordinare Fred Espenak tells me in his Observer's Handbook the Moon will first touch the outer regions of the Earth's penumbra at 4:53.37 UT today (6:54 pm in Hawaii; 9:54 pm on the West Coast US)...a moment in time no one will perceive. Yet within a matter of 65 minutes, the Moon will begin to lose its brilliant, silvery luster, as the Earth's shadow seemingly takes a bite out of this fabled block of cheese. At its center resides a crossroads where 4 divergent paths meet, each with its own unique theme and intention. At this Full Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus and Pluto have now moved into a tight formation at or near 13° in their respective cardinal signs. Fleet Mercury is also conjunct Uranus too, but for a brief time. As Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury...sort of a Cosmic herald, or as I like to say "transmitter of radio free Galaxy", there is a higher frequency transmission ready to be expressed at this lunation. As we move beyond the Full Moon and into the latter part of April, this cardinal cross geometry only becomes tighter by degree, and more intense. Looking back in astrological time, I cannot find an instance where such a unique configuration in Cardinal signs has taken place. Is it any surprise life appears so unstable at the moment??? These archetypal energies meeting at 13°makes this planetary meeting all the more juicy and compelling. Included in this dynamic is the 6th of 8 direct squares between Uranus and Pluto. The last 2 occur this December and next March. Whenever these 2 planetary archetypes come into aspect, huge shifts occur in the world (think of the late 60's when this duo were together inVirgo). And of course....this latest Uranus/Pluto cycle is epic!
Crossroads Timing and the power of "13":
Between April 19 and 29, Mars (retrograde) in Libra, Jupiter in Cancer, Uranus in Aries, and Pluto in Capricorn will be in very tight aspect to each other at or near 13°. This intensity peaks on the 22nd/23rd when they reside exactly at 13° of their respective Cardinal sign placement. The building edginess now on the world stage is palpable. Further, conflict and strange discord usually give rise on personal, social, national, and/or global levels when Mars retrogrades. Russia's recent incursion and take over of Crimea is just one of many examples.

Conclusion:
I don't sense there will be just one defining moment denoting this Grand Cross Cardinal cycle. As with 2012 events and 12/21/12, the world does not end or abruptly shift on April 23rd. Rather, many events over the coming 2 years will contribute to the seedings of this profound cycle of change now underway. And not surprisingly...we will be paradoxically surprised.
I say to anyone attempting to cast predictions about where this leads "you are dabbling in the realm of Neptunian delusion". Cardinal implies "something brand new, edgy, raw, primal". It's a pure, spontaneous alchemical creation in this Cardinal Cauldron with no discernible outcome from where we stand.
