His recent death in late January brings to mind how seasons end...then begin anew. As we reach the Pisces New Moon on February 28, we embrace both the end of the astrological procession through Pisces...and await the new and seemingly exciting season to come through Aries. Pisces calls us home to be part of the greater collective. Just a few days ago on a much bigger stage, our day star emitted the strongest solar flare of 2014. In this social sea of great change, these intense solar impulses affect all levels of consciousness and all life forms. Some of us humans are aware of this vibrational infusion; many would be surprised to learn something has changed or even this event occurred. Regardless, this solar seeding opens our entire psyche to a change in the energy flow on a galactic level...and everyone on the planet, regardless of social position or status, is affected accordingly. The sign of Pisces attunes us to the oneness. In other words its rather boundless, even VAST. It embraces the all. Ruled by nebulous Neptune, Pisces opens our hearts to compassion and peace. 1) 2/26 Ceres stations retrograde at 2° Scorpio, then returns to Libra: Ceres brings its focus to the realm of nurturing care and fertility, and is associated with the sign of Cancer and the Moon. In this retrograde cycle through May, an exploration unfolds about how to nurture and care for yourself. 2) 2/28 Mercury station direct at 18° Aquarius: a call for social justice, and attunement to the big picture. This will be a strong Mercury theme over the next 3 months, especially bringing its message to the realm of social issues across the globe, e.g. same sex marriage and equality will benefit from this heightened focus. Remember, the winged messenger rules communication, thoughts, commerce and movement.
3) 3/1 Mars, ruler of Aries and connection to achievement, accomplishment and assertiveness, stations retrograde at 28° Libra: exploration of all things "relationship" from an internal & external perspective over the next 10 weeks.
This is a significant retrograde cycle as it occurs along the same Libra track with Ceres and Vesta (see below). This trio also follows the same Cardinal path traced by Venus back in December and January.
Come April, Mars will be an active part of the looming Cardinal Cross of 2014 (April into early June). Mars retrograde energy sometimes ushers in the vibration of war and conflict, e.g. the current unrest in the Ukraine and its associated ties with Russia. North node is a gateway of new experiences. It moves to a new sign every 18 months. On 2/21, the Node returned to Libra, 1st time since 7/95. This now amplifies all things "Libra". With Vesta, if you offer a false sense of self to others, Vesta will vividly show you that mirror during its retrograde. Given Vesta follows essentially the same retrograde track as Mars and Ceres, this question will be particularly amplified in the relationship realm.
