The various members of our solar system are in a constant dance with the passage of time and each other. Some members move quite quickly around the Sun; others cover similar ground over decades. Yet, all move in synchronicity with grander rhythms, following the Sun on its epic 240 million year journey around the Galaxy. Over the next 30 days, up to seven planetary energies dwell in this watery realm. This unusual surge culminates on the Pisces New Moon, reflecting to you a dynamic theme pervading the bigger field of conscious awareness...the oneness of life and your connection to everything. 

At this current New Moon, Aquarius encourages you to think big. I mean "really big". The sign of the water bearer attunes to the widest possible perspective of life, literally perceiving the vast perspective of the cosmos. It also shine its
cosmic spotlight into the unsettled realms of social justice and reform, which ripple now throughout the world.

Aquarius New Moon arrives on Feb 9th at 9:20 pm in Hawaii; 11:20 PST; and on the 10th for Mountain Standard Time east to the International Date Line. GMT is 7:20 am on the 10th.

Pisces represents "the all that is". It is the expression of oneness and transcendence. As the last sign of the zodiac, it signals completion before something new emerges. It also draws us to the realm of water, feelings, sensitivity, empathic awareness and intuitive connection. 

Ruled by nebulous Neptune, film, imagery, music, imagination, fantasy, heightened spirituality, delusion and altering drugs frame its boundless vibration. In this enhanced space of awareness, we can connect to the natural world as it existed prior to the emergence of the human species: a time when life was pure and vibrationally attuned to natural world rhythms. Here too we can connect to the realm of the "beyond the beyond".

Yet, that watery journey requires an anchor for integration and connection. Here, Virgo, the opposite sign to Pisces, plays a role. Pisces/Virgo are 2 sides of the same coin. Where Pisces is expanded into oneness, Virgo is down to earth and specific, using discernment as its guide. One balances the other. Pisces chronology - Feb 1 - March 11

Feb 1- Mars entered the sign of Pisces for a 39 day visit. Mars is about action. In Pisces, there is a desire to do something humanitarian about the human plight, particularly in the realms of suffering, hardship, and unfortunate circumstances.
 
Feb 5 -Mercury enters Pisces. This fleet-healed archetype remains in Pisces for 67 days, much longer than usual due to its coming retrograde on the 22nd. Mercury in Pisces is quite introspective and intuitive. Whenever Mercury transits Pisces, there is a heightened sense of dreams and imagery. Also, weather induced "water events" become prominent. When in retrograde, the Pisces vibration gets a strong recharge, especially if your natal Mercury is in Pisces, Virgo, Gemini or Sagittarius:

Feb 8: Enters into the retrograde shadow at 5°
Feb 22: Turns retrograde at 20°
March 17: Stations direct at 5°
April 6 - leaves retrograde shadow at 20°

Retrograde and direct dates represent highest potency times. Given the watery, undefined nature of this vibration, use functional Virgo like focus to prepare, such as:
- back up computer and other digital devices
- make sure important mechanical items such as a car are operational and serviced, 
- refrain from signing significant agreements until after 3/17, 
- if choosing to marry, be very clear about your marriage vows and why you are going in this direction
- go with the flow. Move where the energy "feels" easiest
- be ready for unexpected travel delays
- use your intuition and instinctive abilities to chart your path.

Feb 18: Sun enters Pisces imparting its fuel/energy into this expanding realm of sensitivity and emotional connection to everything.

Feb 25: Virgo Full Moon. Venus imparts a sense of beauty, sensitivity and a desire for refinement in the light of Virgo's lunar essence. This is an exalted placement for Venus to attune her vibration to the Virgo Priestess' energy.

March 11 - Pisces New Moon - seven planetary energies today, including Neptune, Mercury, Chiron, Venus, Sun, Moon, and Mars! Having 7 planetary energies occupy one sign is a very rare occurrence. Children born on this day will redefine the words "psychic, empathic, and sensitive".

New Moon dynamics and strategies: 

The Sun and Moon position at 21° Aquarius in direct square to the Nodal points in Scorpio/Taurus (see chart above). The position of these 2 Nodes at 21° Scorpio/Taurus occurs nearly at the same degree points for the Nov 13, 2012 and May 10, 2013 solar eclipses. This mid-way point between eclipses helps you look to the past for guidance in the realms of expanding life force (Scorpio) and strengthening body health (Taurus), and the future for inspiration, desire, and most importantly Aquarian freedom from the current heaviness/oppression expressed in many parts of the world.

Suggested strategies for this New Moon:

This Pisces surge has a broad reach. More so, it will have a particularly strong influence on anyone with significant planetary aspects in the mutable signs of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces. Especially activated will be the Uranus/Pluto in Virgo generation, born between late 1961 and late 1968.
 
- Expand your perspective of what is possible - good Aquarian exercise
- Stay grounded in your essence - helpful to balance Piscean vibe
- Pay attention to life's details and obligations - good Virgo exercise
- Pay attention to your dreams
- Create imagery or video
- Deepen your meditation practice.
- Find solitude time for yourself. 
- Refrain or minimize the use of alcohol or recreational drugs. There's plenty of Piscean illusions in the field...so no need for more.   

Lastly, at this New Moon, Venus at 10° Aquarius squares Saturn at 11° Scorpio. Venus is now close to the Sun and invisible to the naked eye. She has descended into the mythological underworld to redefine her essence.

Archetypal Scorpio mirrors this underworld. Venus square Saturn opens the door for transformation and renewal. There, Venus reclaims her power, emerging with heightened awareness into the western sky come early May. 

This "inward time", especially for a woman, is a time to deepen your connection to your life force, preparing for what is to come in the 2nd half of 2013.
