Astrology for August 2012 offers potent planetary patterns supportive of renewing creativity and turning a corner in the area of relationship.

Leo New Moon is August 17, 2012. New Moons are a time to reflect and reset your energy for the coming lunar cycle. Leo, as a fire sign, relates to inner spirit, gut instinct and the warmth of the heart. Leo rules the Sun, symbolic how we radiate the light of the heart.

July 22 - August 21 Sun moves through the zodiac sign of Leo the Lion. This time of year, creativity, playfulness and charismatic leadership are illuminated.  Leo qualities may sometimes be mistaken as being selfish, however, when Leo expresses itself in its highest vibration, heartfelt enthusiastic expression shines through.

Mercury just completed a retrograde cycle in the Zodiac sign of Leo July 14 through August 7th. The Leo mysteries have really been illuminated this past month, a time to reflect on creativity, confidence and personal perspectives of courage. Mercury remains in Leo through the end of the month. This vibration supports playful communications from the heart.

Connecting to Saturn and Mars in the Sky Story
Sun and Moon conjoined at 25 Leo are supported in sextile, an easy connection, to Mars and Saturn at 25 - 26 Libra.  Saturn’s slow sojourn through Libra for over two years has offered opportunities to “get real” in the area of relationship. Relationship meaning romantic partner, as well as what feels fair and balanced in any one-on-one relationship.

Keep your eyes on the sky mid month as Mars meets Saturn in the sky story near the star Spica.  Look for this beautiful trio this week in the west/southwest on a clear night after sunset, forming a straight line. They appear closest on August 15-16. One week later they again form a triangle as Mars continues its faster movement along the zodiac.

A Time to Turn a Corner  
In other news, the love planet Venus entered the water sign of Cancer on August 7th.  Venus moving through Cancer through the 21st creates a T square pattern with Uranus at 8 Aries and Pluto at 7 Capricorn.  When planets form a T - Square, it is a reflection of ‘turning a corner’ as reflected in the “As Above, So Below, As Within, So Without” mystery.    Venus transiting through 7 - 12 degrees Cancer during the week of August 10 - 21st may activate a turning point in how we feel emotionally connected, or not, in relationship to our family or community.  Note that any time a planet moves through the sensitive Cardinal signs activating the Uranus and Pluto square now through 2015 “it’s time to pay attention!”. This month's topic is the Leo New Moon, and the planetary ruler for Leo is the Sun.  Let's have a quick look at Sun sign placements in the Cardinal signs energized by this T -Square.
