The Moon catches up to the Sun on February 21 at 3 degrees Pisces. New Moon time in Hawaii is 3:35 pm; 5:35 on the West Coast, and on the 22nd at 1:35 AM GMT, then east to the International Date Line. This New Moon theme focuses on Piscean qualities of unification, transcendence, transitions, karmic completions, sensitivity, and empathic awareness. With its ruling planet Neptune now fully immersed into Pisces, the cosmic spotlight turns to selfless, compassionate service on the global stage, the state of the world's waters and environmental health, and creative use of imagery and film.

As the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces provides a reminder and reflection about the infinite depth of the collective consciousness. Pisces dissolves form. Hence, inherent to its archetypal expression is the merged essence and awareness of all other zodiac members. This New Moon is a

powerful opportunity to devote some time to prayer or meditation, to deeply feel your connection to the "all that is" and connect to something bigger than what seems possible.

As Sun and Moon align exactly between Neptune and Chiron in Pisces on this New Moon day, let's explore the possibilities for this powerful astrological grouping (stellium). The Moon symbolically casts its shadow near the Sun, providing an inward  emotional fuel to heal the very human behavior that has polluted or abused the waters (Neptune) of the Earth. Chiron provides the healing path upon which this return to wholeness may proceed.

Further, as ruler of Pisces, Neptune, the "Lord of the Sea", directs us to a deeper connection to the collective consciousness of humanity and all living things. Here, these 4 planetary Piscean members of Neptune (1), Sun/Moon (2) and Chiron (3) form a sextile (60°) with expansive Jupiter in the Earth sign of Taurus. This vibration accentuates  a deeper compassion and reverence for life itself, connecting Heaven and Earth. 

Neptune points to the natural world as it existed prior to human existence. One possibility is the inspiration for nations to create a comprehensive, practical Earth based environmental plan to truly address wide-spread environmental pollution, habitat destruction, and deforestation around the planet leading to a much healthier and life-giving natural world.

Another possibility is a call to action this New Moon for a simple, practical prayer for purifying, replenishing, and restoring the waters that fill over 70 percent of the Earth's surface. Communicative Mercury (4) provides a way for shaping such a prayer. Scientist and Author, Dr Masaru Emoto proved we can do it. When there are enough humans energizing uplifting thought forms near water, the structure of the water actually changes to mirror the vibration of human intention. Retrograde Mars (1) in Virgo provides a grounded reference point to this fluid-like Pisces activity courtesy of its opposition angle (180°) to Mercury (2). As Mars is moving temporarily in reverse, it is symbolically gathering information from the unconscious realms for later (post retrograde), practical use. A quincunx (150°) from Venus (3) to Mars says "just do it". This conversation continues over the next few days. On a personal level, look around your home or community environment and consider how you can co-participate in this environmental renewal through prayer or action.

By the next Full Moon, a powerful grand Earth trine (120°) is formed, bringing to a deeper essence the prayerful seeds being sowed at this New Moon stage. The energetic veil between the conscious and unconscious becomes particularly thin in this building New Moon lunation. At Full Moon in March, the Moon will be positioned at the same degree now occupied by Mars at this New Moon. The energetic exchange continues!
