Total Lunar Eclipse & Solstice - December 2010: Crimson Light Magic

The Full Moon occurs at 29 degrees Gemini on December 20th in the late evening in Hawaii (10:13), and on the 21st from the West Coast, east to the International Date Line. During this lunation, the Moon slips into the crimson filled Earth's shadow, reaching totality beginning at 9:40p (HST); 11:40 PST; 2:40a EST, 7:40a UT (Universal Time) Totality lasts for approximately 1 hr and 15 minutes. This potent dynamic occurs just 15 hours before the Sun moves into the cardinal sign of Capricorn, signaling the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere.

Let me say up front, I consider this chart dynamic as an indicator of a "seeding point" for the next 4 years, much in the same light I forecast this past summer's Cardinal Climax events. While a few astrologers suggest this Gemini Full Moon chart is the "true 2012" chart, containing the potency to create significant global shifts. I take a different tact. Reasons are outlined below.

Here's the Full Moon Chart

 
This is the third in a series of six consecutive late degree Full Moons. As I have previously shared, late degree Moons point to "inner mastery". Gemini qualities include how you communicate the uniqueness of your inner gifts with others. Networker, keenly attuned to spontaneity and synchronicity, actor/actress, and playful minstrel make up other Gemini traits. These expressions come to light in this month's Full Moon vibration. An investigation during this lunation of your childhood (Gemini) passion, the inner gift you naturally expressed, may bring you new understanding, deeper appreciation and renewed motivation for new ways to express this unique gift within you in service to others.

This lunation represents the culmination of energies stirred earlier this month during the Sagittarius New Moon. That lunation carried a vibration of seeking "freedom from restriction and repression". At the current lunation, you are encouraged to bring any related experiences inwardly, integrating fully the essence of compassionate, self-empowerment and grace.

There are four planetary and positional factors at play, strongly amplifying the effect of this Full Moon:
 - Sun and Mercury at 29 and 26 degrees Sagittarius, respectively, are at the Galactic Center point in the sky, i.e. that portion of the sky pointing to the center of our Milky Way Galaxy. This indicates new, spiritual (Sagittarius) information coming from a higher source. Occurring near the Solstice point, the holiest time of the year, implies "new beginnings".

 

- Mercury at 26 degrees Sagittarius is retrograde, creating with the Sun a sextile (2) with Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius, and a square (3) with Uranus and Jupiter in Pisces. Add the Gemini Moon to the above mix and a potent T-square (1) emerges. Occurring close to the Solstice indicates a strong potential for significant (Jupiter), unusual (Uranus), and visionary (Neptune) seeding (Mercury), or cosmic downloads (Galactic Center), into your psyche and heart center.
 - Venus at 13 degrees Scorpio (4) arrives on the Full Moon at the same degree (4) where her retrograde began this past early October - in a significant way, this essentially pulls in to this mix the essence of the four lunations occurring during the Oct-Nov retrograde period. Scorpio embraces life force and "shared resources" and a connection to our genetic lineage (see Suggestions below). 
- the North Lunar Node at 3 degrees Capricorn (consider it as a new Gateway of awareness and direction) is straddled by (left to right, below) Mercury and Sun in Sagittarius, and Pluto and Mars in Capricorn.

As the Moody Blues wrote in 1969, we "are on the threshold of a dream". Much is rapdily changing throughout the world. Since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, the reliable has proven "unreliable", especially in the economic realm. "Unexpected" is the new normal. World-wide communication is now instantaneous. A cultural restlessness sweeps the planet. World power and political alliances are shifting  in uncertain ways.

The Sun once again has become very active (solar maximum), and global warming seemingly continues accelerating. In lock-step, weather systems escalate in intensity.

These dynamics serve as a vivid backdrop to this potent lunation. The above visual of a lunar node (gateway)near Galactic Center at the center of strong Sagittarian and Capricorn elements to a significant seeding (Cardinal sign energy) of consciousness occurring for what will unfold over the next four years.

Mercury Retrograde began its current retrograde on December 10th conjunct potent, transformational Pluto. It concludes this transit on December 29th, leaving the retrograde shadow on January 17th when it once again conjuncts Pluto. 

That Mercury, moving retrograde, closely aligns to the Sun/Galactic Center position at the eclipse, as well as being the ruling planet of Gemini, indicates an infusion of new information in underway for the evolving Capricorn mythos. 

Remember, Capricorn focuses on rules, structure, organization, finance, politics and finance. Hence, this "seeding point" offers new information about how we will co-create, produce, distribute resources and wealth, engage in commerce and self-govern as a world community in the 21st century. This Cardinal seeding ground will be further primed for activation in 2011, especially when triggered by any significant planetary transit energy in an early degree Cardinal Sign (Aries, Capricorn, Cancer and Libra). 

The most significant of these coming transits will be the movement of Jupiter and Uranus into Aries in January and April, respectively and their eventual intense interaction with Pluto in Capricorn. This will initiate a series of 7 Uranus/Pluto squares through 2015 (2 per year in 2012-14, and 1 in 2015). The last time this duo interacted in Cardinal signs was 1927 - 1934 during a world-wide depression. For purposes of this writing, suffice it to say significant, surprising and revolutionary shifts will take place under the influence of this energy over the next several years. And this lunation and this past summer's "Cardinal Climax" are the seeding grounds for what is to come.

Strategy for this lunation: Using techniques learned during our participation in an amazing healing intensive, called Ultimatum, place your full conscious attention on this Full Moon. Visualize or reflect on that version of yourself, simultaneously existing in some other dimensional reality. This version of you expresses and lives the highest potential of their innately seeded Universal gifts. In the same spirit, evoke the highest essence of others in your family lineage. Call forth these presences into your heart center, seeding a new life direction. This ritual is about fully exchanging in this reality your present self for that upgraded version of you.

Further, if you are able to see this eclipsed Moon, breathe in its photons of light through your heart center. Remember, you are receiving reflected lunar light emanating from the Galactic Center, filtered through our Sun's essence, and further distilled through Earth's atmosphere. This sweet, crimson hue carries with it the vibration of life-force, passion, abundance and a sense of grounding.

Also, in a total lunar eclipse, you will witness lunar phases from the moment the Moon first touches the Umbra (deepest shadow), until its last parting touch. This represents the compression of an entire monthly lunar cycle into a condensed 3 hour period. It's quite the energetic ride.
