Libra New Moon: Relationship Reset

Truth is, I'll never know all there is to know about you just as you will never know all there is to know about me. Humans are by nature too complicated to be understood fully. So we can choose either to approach our fellow human beings with suspicion or to approach them with an open mind, a dash of optimism and a great deal of candour."
Tom Hanks

Note: I wanted to post a short update on the current New Moon lunation, which I consider to be a rather intense one. "Intensity" has taken on a whole new meaning since the August Solar eclipse, something I shared was quite probable in my eclipse related blog back in August.

Sun/Moon Libra will be in direct opposition to transiting Uranus in Aries and quincunx to Chiron in Pisces at this lunation (next 14 days), focusing on the realm of relationships. New Moon timing is 9:12 am on 19th in Hawaii; 12:12p on the West Coast US; 7:12pm UT; and just after midnight on the 20th in the UAE east to the International Date Line.

For strong and evolving relationships, this intense dynamic offers an opportunity to add a new (Aries), unexpected (Uranus) element to your synergistic connection. By contrast, challenged relationships are subject to a strong degree of surprising rebellious/intense energy (Uranus). This more shadow-like surge provides the necessary fuel to break free from constraints, limitations, or stagnant energy in your associations with others. It also opens the possibility of healing (Chiron), embracing a more compassionate version of yourself and others. Otherwise, the alternative is more separation and sorrow. It's a choice.

This New Moon's dynamic is further defined by transiting Saturn in Sagittarius' sextile to Sun/Moon, and

trine to Uranus. Saturn's 2 1/2 yr journey through Sagittarius (began in 2015; ends in early 2018) is on a mission to reveal and reorganize the darker secrets of the psyche (e.g. Weinstein sexual scandal) while creating a more grounded spiritual and integral connection to life's higher purpose. Saturn's aspect to the Sun/Moon/Uranus/Chiron provides a lot of fuel to either elevate a relationship into a more spiritual connection, or strongly reveal any hidden illusions that create disharmony, false peace, deceit/treachery and/or co-dependent dysfunction. This is particularly true for Donald Trump, whose natal chart is heavily aspected at this lunation.

Finally, Jupiter recently ingressed in Scorpio for the first time in 12 years and now creates a conjunction with Mercury to bring the elements of sensual/sexual intimacy, shared resources and trust to this lunation's theme. By contrast, not surprising that Scorpio's shadow elements of betrayal, sexual predation and deception/lies have been recently amplified (Jupiter) throughout the consciousness for all to heal and resolve.

Mediation reflection question:
Am I empowered by the relationships in my life?
- If yes, what steps can I take to further deepen these synergistic ties?
- If no, what internal changes am I ready or willing to make to either create a more meaningful, compassionate connection with others, or bring to closure any unhealthy associations.

Conclusion:

On a personal note, I'll share more about my recent move to South Africa and all that's unfolding in my life in my next update sometime in November. Meanwhile, at the moment I'm in Japan for photography and group bodywork sessions, returning to South Africa in early November.  I'll be in the Chicago and Philadelphia areas in early to mid-December; in between I'll be in Hawaii for a week.

And thanks to 21st century wizardry and an ever shrinking globe, I continue to offer Life Path Astrology consultations via Skype. 2018 will be an intense year. Saturn moves into Capricorn in January, eventually catching up to Pluto in 2020. Consider reviewing your chart and plotting a new strategy for surfing these intense life-changing cycles. You can access my appointment schedule here for my November availability.

Intensity continues to build around the world. Yet, 2017 is not its peak, but rather part of an ongoing intensification underway since Pluto entered Capricorn in early 2008 (politics, rules, business, organization). Pluto cycle usually magnifies the expression of energy before it implodes it. For example, such happened to the financial sector in 2008, and note: before Pluto exits Capricorn in 2023, it will happen again but with more intensity.  Another example, the fragmentation of our political system. There's many more examples...the list is quite long.

But rather than dwell too much on the mayhem and restructuring of these extraordinary times, important to remember that adversity builds character and strength leading to meaningful and healthy relationships. And in that spirit at this Libra New Moon, the words of Maya Angelou ring ever true for our inner journey: "Change happens to us every single day. Every positive or negative experience changes us in one way or another. With an attitude of strength, you can refuse to let any of your experiences make you small. Stand fast and be the amazing person you are during good times and bad."
