Aries Full Moon Sept 29 2012: The Door Opens

The breeze at dawn has secrets to tell you.
Don't go back to sleep.

You must ask for what you really want.
Don't go back to sleep.

People are going back and forth across the doorsill
where the two worlds meet.

The door is round and open.
Don't go back to sleep.

Aries Full Moon arrives on the 29th setting the stage for a potent October and November. Aries is the most "now" focused sign of the zodiac. Neither past nor future are of concern. This Full Moon occurs at 5:18 pm in Hawaii, 8:18 on the West Coast, and on the 30th in Canada's Eastern Maritime east to the International Date Line,

This particular lunation includes a very intense connection with the Uranus Pluto square as the Moon positions almost exact to Uranus in Aries. The last time the Full Moon conjunct Uranus was in September 2008 in the sign of Pisces.

As a theme builder, the Moon adds a potent emotional content to this transgenerational duo, raising their energy to palpable levels over the next 2 weeks. I expect events and weather on the world stage, which have been intense over the past few months, to continue at the same level or higher.

This past week, we hosted and facilitated our one week Inner and Outer Journey Retreat here on Hawaii Island. Due to our focus directed toward our retreat participants, we recorded our video about this Lunation and the recent Equinox on the 17th. Here it is:

In addition to the on-going Uranus/Pluto square discussed in-depth in our last Update, this lunation also includes an intensification of the Venus Mars square, which has been building over the past 2 weeks. Note: Uranus/Pluto will be a part of every astrological conversation through 2015. See our June Update for dates when this pairing is particularly intense and our mid-September update for suggestions about how to move with this energy.

Here's the Full Moon chart:

Uranus in Aries being conjunct by the Moon adds significant creative fuel to this lunation. Uranus energy is quite strong, invokes a higher octave of Universal awareness, and is full of surprising twists and turns. Its focus is the future. While its Aries backdrop can generate intense angst and rebellion (Middle East uproar over a YouTube video is a classic example), it can also spur unexpected technological breakthroughs in the scientific field.

Meanwhile, Venus in Leo and Mars in Scorpio at this lunation continue their very awkward square combination, which began Sept 12.

Venus basks in Leo's fire, while Mars dives deep into Scorpio's watery realm. Fire + Water = Steam. Anyone with late degree planetary aspects in any of the fixed signs (Taurus/Scorpio and Leo/Aquarius) ought to pay particular attention to this dynamo as this transit can prove difficult if you engage this energy without pausing and breathing.

Venus wants to follow the uplifting path of Leo's heart. Mars in Scorpio, its ancient home, revels in diving deep into the realm of emotional process. One energy goes "up"; the other goes "down". On October 2 and 6th, respectively, Venus and Mars move into earthly Virgo and fiery Sagittarius. The square dynamics continues there in a waning phase until October 10.

On the morning of the 3rd, Venus will pass very close to Regulus, the dominant star of Leo. Her passage in the sky story will be both an activation and integration for your heart's desires in the realm of beauty, the arts and relationship.

Here's some suggestions for surfing this Venus/Mars square transit:
- While in Leo/Scorpio:
1. Exercise. Move it; shake it. Get your heart pumping. Scorpio thrives on "life force". If "life force" is not channeled through the body's bio-field, it inevitably directs its heat to the mental realm. In turn, emotional drama ensues. Not a good place to visit.
2. Engage in an activity dear to your heart.
3. Create quite time for yourself
4. Receive bodywork to balance and harmonize your life force and nurture your heart.

- While in Virgo/Sagittarius
1. Create a morning ritual honoring the cycles of the Earth
2. Follow an uplifting spiritual practice
3. Take a trip to a favorite place
4. Go to the top of a mountain or high place to experience an elevated energy

Saturn moves into Scorpio on October 5th initiating a 30 month journey in the realm of life force. For anyone born on or prior to 1983, reflect on your life during the early 1980's noting any significant events that took place. Saturn is poised to make a return visit to that energy pattern, offering an opportunity for a "re-do" or restructuring.

Lastly, Jupiter begins its Gemini retrograde on October 4th at 16°. Through January 30 it will slowly move back to 6° Gemini. It begins this retrograde at essentially the same degree where Venus transited the Sun this past June.

When expansive Jupiter moves retrograde, there is an inner evaluation of your beliefs and perspectives of life. It also is a time for discovering something new about yourself; perhaps something you'll want to share with others when Jupiter moves direct come February.

Also, this retrograde will carry the lessons you learned from the Venus transit into your inner world. What did you discover about your playful self this past June? Was the energy of that period "easy" or "challenging" for you?  Let these life lessons be a touch stone or benchmark for life choices you make over the next 4 months.

Conclusion: As we move deeper into this new season, the stars of the Winter become more dominant now in the evening sky. In the United States, a presidential election occurs in 6 weeks. The unstable energy of Uranus/Pluto in October will serve as a potent backdrop to events shaping this significant day of choice.

This Uranian/Plutonian energy also serves as a life changing catalyst in all areas of life. Rumi's reminder about movement, courage and passion point to major door openings for anyone willing to let go of the past and be fully present in the moment. Yes, the "door is wide and open".

Just last week a comet (2012 S1) was discovered by Russian astronomers Artyom Novichonok and Vitali Nevski. How's that for a Uranus in Aries gift? After plotting this comet's orbit, scientist have concluded this comet may be one for the record books when it makes a close approach to Earth and the Sun next November. Its passage will grace the Northern Hemisphere skies. Bright comets are usually harbingers of significant events. Time will tell what this Comet has in store for us later next year. However, a discovery of this nature during an intense phase of Uranus and Pluto points to a strong possibility we will see a rare "pay attention" comet gracing the early morning and evening skies.

Next New Moon occurs on October 15 in the sign of Libra. As the Full Moon is now the theme setter for all lunations through August 2013, lessons learned over the next 2 weeks from this current lunar phase will bring a strong New Moon spotlight into the realm of relationships in your life and what they mean to you.

  2. Hi,

It occured to me while reading this that the October 2-6 peroid signals a significant shift with Venus, Mars, and especially Saturn, all changing signs in such a tight peroid. Would you please enlighten us with an elaboration? Thanks.

  3. Yes, much shifting between the 2nd and 6th. Change of frequencies in the realm of creative beauty (Venus), structure (Saturn) and personal endeavors (Mars). Elementally, Earth, Water and Fire are stimulated opening the Air portal for new information and insights. Saturn in Scorpio will be a strong test about the conscious use of energy on planet Earth.
